I am a 56 year old father of 5 children and grandfather of 3 soon to be 4. I retired from teaching last spring after 34 years as a shop teacher. I have taught auto mechanics, drafting, metal working, welding, wood shop and carpentry.

I have been running sled dogs for 18 years during which time we have run numerous mid-distance races. I run sled dogs because I love the outdoors and the peace and solitude of traveling by dog sled.

Being selected to be a participant in the 2007 Serum Run is an honor and the fulfillment of a dream. I have long wanted to experience traveling through the interior of Alaska by dog sled.
