Lee Bolt - 2007 Trail Veterinarian

I was born in San Diego, and spent much of my life in Idaho. I served three years in the Army working in medical research. My undergraduate degree is from the University of Idaho and my veterinary degree from neighboring Washington State University.

Sweeten Creek Animal and Bird Hospital is my “home away for home”. My associate, Dr. Beth Rhyne and I care for small animal, avian, exotic and wildlife species in Asheville, North Carolina. I also serve as staff veterinarian at the Western North Carolina Nature Center (an AZA accredited Zoological Institution).

My recollection of sitting in Nome on March 22, 2004 was thinking “I needed that”! Our goal of returning all dogs “to home and health” was achieved. So, with such memorable experiences of dogs, people and environment in the 2004 Serum Run, I’m “a Vet-erang”. (Australian Aboriginal word for a Veterinarian you can’t get rid of).

P.S. Howard, can you have the White Mountain tricycles serviced and ready to go?
