Mark Chin - 2007 Snow Machine Support

I am originally from Idaho, where I obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Idaho.

During my education I spent two summers with the Juneau Icefield Research Program studying glaciers around Southeast Alaska. Another summer I spent as an intern at NASA’s Goddard Spaceflight Center. After I graduated I went to New Zealand for a year and earned a Graduate Certificate in Antarctic Studies from the University of Canterbury. From New Zealand I moved to Zambia, Africa where I was assigned to teach fish farming to rural farmers in the village for two years with the Peace Corps.

Upon returning to the States just this last April, I worked with Alaska Icefield Expeditions as a handler for the sled dog tour company. It was here that I got into dogs, met Dale Swartenzber and decided to do the Serum Run together.

I am looking forward to learning as much as I can from Dale as well as all the other mushers and members of this years Serum Run.
