Misha Pederson
Dog Musher

I was born in 1968 in Prague, Czech Republic in a beautiful town in the heart of Europe. I spent most weekends walking cross country with friends and my dog. Every Friday evening I would put on my backpack and catch the train to go and explore new places. While still in Europe I worked as a painter and sign writer. For five years I was a set painter for advertisements and movies.

I visited Australia several times where I traveled all over with my aunt. My friends and I hiked Chilkoot Pass, paddled a canoe down the Yukon River from Whitehorse to Dawson City and canoed the Stikine River from Telegraph Creek to Wrangell. While traveling in Alaska I became interested in sled dogs and tried to learn more about them and how to stay on the sled. I lived with Charlie and Robin Boulding for two winters. I learned a lot from them at their beautiful homestead in the wilderness on the banks of the Tanana River.

Now I'm living in Caswell Lakes with my husband. I don't have my own dog team but I'm helping run dogs in Willow. This winter I'm training Vern Halter's yearlings.
I've wanted to go on the Serum Run from the first time I heard about it.This is the closest I've come to realizing my dream.
