Patty Tucker
- 2007 Snowmachine support
As a transplanted
Floridian of 30 years, moving to Soldotna Alaska was the dream
of a lifetime. Good luck and good friends allowed me to be introduced
to both snow machining and dog mushing with Jane Faulkner’s
Play More (Work Less) Kennel. It was through Jane, and with the
blessing of my husband Jeff and 3 kids, Dylan, Garrett and Alec
that I was able to participate in the 2005 Serum Run. As a novice
snow machiner, this run was both an exciting adventure and a challenge.
Now armed with a better machine and a little more knowledge I
am looking forward to the 2007 run. My family has settled in Fairbanks
and I am currently working as a nurse in the Emergency Dept. at
the Army hospital on Ft. Wainwright. We have been enjoying the
area, camping, hiking and kayaking during the summer and attempting
to perfect our ability to snowshoe, ski and snow machine in the
winter. Alaska is an amazing state and I am very excited to be
able to participate in this incredible journey enjoying the teamwork
and camaraderie it takes to make a successful run.
