SHERRI STEVENS

I came to Alaska from Montana where I spent 15 years near the Canadian border.

I used dogs to help haul in supplies in the winter with a plastic sled and also to pull me on ski’s. The rest of my winters were spent camping, snocaving and telemark skiing in the backcountry.

I soon started dreaming of Alaska and moved here 10 years ago. And immediately graduated to a real dog sled. And well………if you are a dog musher and reading this….you know the rest of the story. Can’t feed just one!

My winters are now spent mostly in the White Mountains. I am very lucky to have direct trail access from my house to them.
I first heard about the Serum Run in 1999. I have dreamed of doing it ever since. Not only for the challenge, but for the opportunity to better understand Alaska’s native culture and participate in commemorating part of Alaska’s history.
